Get some style inspiration for how to wear your handmade crochet bralette this summer.
The Isabella Crochet Bralette has been our best selling design since its release in 2018, and for good reason too. The simple design is easy to construct and makes use of basic crochet stitches so is perfect for those relatively new to crochet. I love the design for incorporating crochet into your festival summer wardrobe when the weather is glorious and you’re looking for something fun to wear.
Well, I’m pleased to say that it’s now available to order as a crochet kit with all the supplies you need to make your own crochet bralette in one lovely little bundle. As well as some lovely recycled cotton by Hoooked, a bamboo crochet hook and the PDF pattern, you’ll also receive a digital beginners guide to crochet which takes you through the foundations of crochet step by step so you can create your own bralette even if you’re entirely new to the craft.
Once you can double and half treble crochet, you’ll be hooking up a storm, ready for the summer heatwave in no time at all.
Crochet bralette outfit inspiration
I have to admit, one thing I am guilty of is spending hours working up a project only for it to end up folded in a drawer because, well, I’m not really sure what to wear it with.
So that’s why I’ve put together 3 summer outfits to help you style your crochet bralette this season.
Casual Summer Outfit
Nothing says casual like jeans and a tee, only this has a bit of a crocheted edge.
Why not pair your crochet bralette with a pair of boyfriend jeans or tapered linen trousers for a casual summer look. If the temperatures are high, swap the trousers for a pair of high-waisted denim shorts, or chuck on a kaftan or lightweight shirt during the evenings when it’s cooler.
Perfect for picnics in the park and eating ice cream on the harbour.
Whimsical Summer Outfit
If there’s one thing I have to have in an outfit, it’s the ability to move! Floaty dresses, loose trousers, stretchy waistbands and floaty fabrics are all a must for me, especially when the weather is warm.
My favourite way of styling my crochet bralette is with a high waisted floaty skirt for a graceful summer outfit with a touch of whimsy. This chiffon floral print skirt pairs so elegantly with it that it wouldn’t look out of place in a festival style wedding (add wellies or docs for true festival vibes!), but equally works for summer bbqs and as a cute date outfit!
Boho Summer Outfit
Maybe you don’t fancy showing so much skin, or you’re not quite comfortable wearing a bralette as a top on its own. Or, as is more likely given what the British weather is like, the temperatures aren’t as tropical as we wish they were, then this is the option for you.
Lace up your bralette over the top of a summer dress, or layer over an oversized shirt and jeans for a fun twist.
